Well our brunch sure did smell wonderful with the freshly cut flowers! A big thank you to Sonia Lia who shared with us about her non-profit, Under His Construction, as how opportunities such as flower arranging are changing the life of others. She also shared with us how to make a “flower cake” and allowed attendees to bid on some beautiful arrangements. We were also blessed by the musical styling of Bill Buttram, who sang “I’m gettin’ nuttin’ for Christmas”, and Rosalind Cooper whose voice is always so lovely to hear. Then what a powerful story Emily Firnstahl shared about the price of success. She shared her story of being robbed and her fear of never being enough and how that led to an eating disorder. While we may not all be able to relate to the events in her life, I think we can all admit to sometimes feeling inadequate. Emily will now tell you that true success is getting right with God in this life so you can be with Him in the next.
