November full of activities, Veterans Day, changing colors & time, falling leaves, and the smell of roasting turkey in the air. So much to be Thankful for! The Fall Brunch at The Canyon Club provided another opportunity to Celebrate our Veterans and our military wives. We were honored by a special guest, Stanley Farmer, a veteran of WWII and accompanied by his wife Chris. Many of the women attending are wives of our Veterans and active military men and we shared our appreciate for them all.
The beautiful music of Nathan and Marilyn Saltzman singing “Shine On Harvest Moon” perfectly fit the season and lead us to our Special Feature. Jane Bickelman of Pursonatlities Plus shared about her Mission to collect “gently used” purses filled with necessities and a small gift for Ladies who live in our community and need a helping hand! Check out her Facebook page Pursonalities Plus ABQ or contact her at [email protected] to learn more about this amazing outreach in our community.
As Nathan and Marilyn Saltzman blessed us with “For the Autumn Sky” we prepared our hearts to hear our speaker Glenda Durano. This award winning speaker and television director has now created College Advising and Planning Services, a faith-based educational consulting firm to empower students in the college planning process. Glenda's story of her daughters devastating illness and extensive recovery process brought tears to our eyes and touched our hearts deeply. As she shared her experience of when you can't see God's hand, you can trust His heart we learned valuable lessons about faith, perspective, and truth. Glenda asks, “Do you have insurance or assurance about your relationship with God?” She shared how to live beyond our circumstances and find stability in the storm. This was a very powerful experience and we thank Glenda for her gift of speaking about her trials and for sharing the victory her family has experienced in the midst of this storm.
We wrapped up the event with final sales for our Fundraiser and celebrated as the total rolled past our last years tally. Thank you to everyone who attended and to all of you who helped to make this years Stonecroft Fundraiser a success.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and to your Families! God Bless one and ALL.
