Happy New Year! What a great brunch to ring in the new year with everyone. We had so much fun getting to hear from so many of our attendees about their businesses. What a way to add variety to our special feature time! We were also blessed by the beautiful singing voice of Cynthia Nagel who sang She Used to Be Mine and Thy Will. Despite technical difficulties the singing was worth the wait. Then Jennifer Smith spoke to us about a topic that I know is present is so many lives - the fear of inadequacy. She started her talk with a very important point, "Jesus came to give us LIFE, but Satan comes to kill, steal and destroy". She spoke about the pitfalls of people pleasing and the imposter syndrome. After sharing with us some examples from her own life she also gave practical ways to overcome the fear - Galatians 1:10. We need to remember that it is OK to say NO to something that may be a good thing to do, but isn't something WE need to Do. WE also need to speak the truth in LOVE. We need to remember that God knows all and is in control. We should do the best we can in a situation and what we believe He would want us to do, but we need to leave the consequences up to Him. Below are some photos from this brunch. Enjoy!
